| In Memorium - To Rocky |
Rocky, one of our two Sheltie dogs, was featured in our blog "Alf - A Dog" on this website. Our son, Kevin, rescued him from certain death down in Louisiana as a senseless person was trying to run him over. He was cut and bleeding and his teeth had been broken battling with a pizza delivery truck. Kevin nursed him back to health and brought him to live with us. He still had problems when we got him, including heart worm.
![]() Rocky 19XX - 2008 We were able to cure him of heart worm but in the past few months he developed a wheezing cough and seemed to have trouble breathing. X-rays showed that his lung capacity had become diminished since we got him. The veternarian gave us medicine for him but he slowly got worse. He ate fairly well but would not exercise enough to keep his weight in check. This morning he was gasping for breath when we got up. His lungs seemed to be filling with fluid. We rushed him to the Vet who put him on oxygen and an IV to hydrate him. Alas, poor Rocky was too weak to recover and we lost our sweet little sheltie this morning. He will be missed by my wife and I and also by Rowdy, his constant companion.
Goodbye good friend. |
