Versatility is a plus.  The woven mixed pearls can stand alone, and the blister pearl carved drop can be worn separately.

This necklace is named for the promise I made to myself not to buy anything at the 2007 Tucson Gem Show.  We always have house guests during the show, and I had delivered my guests to this tent with gigantic mounds of every imaginable pearl.  The wretches were holding up strands for me to admire.  What is a bead addict to do?  I bought.  I love the look of blister pearls, but I have always had sympathy for the oyster.  After all, how would you like having to sleep on a sharp pebble when you can’t leave your bed?

When my husband saw the necklace of mixed pearls, mother-of-pearl, and golden myoki beads with its carved blister pearl pendant, he exclaimed, “Now that is elegant!”  I concur.
