Garden Window: Watercolor Quilt

This was made as a gift for my parents.  It was one of the first quilts I ever did.  I wanted to make my dad a quilt but he is an architect and so a traditional “country” quilt would not do.  So I happened across the book “Watercolor Quilts” by Pat Margaret and Donna Slusser and was hooked on the idea of “painting” with fabric. This was a simple progression of fabric values from dark in one corner to light in the other corner.  I framed it as a window to give it some structure as it was very impressionistic. Dad loved it.
