| Charging Elephant - Original Painting |
Charging Elephant: Original Acrylic Painting or Limited Edition Giclée PrintThis original acrylic painting shows a charging elephant, his large ears flapping, which is not a view that you want to normally see. Their most dangerous predator is man, who invades their habitat and kills them for their ivory. They are also killed by natives who have moved into the elephants' territory to farm or raise cattle. Naturally the elephants take exception to the intrusion. After all, they were there first.
Elephants are normally docile unless angered. When they flap their ears and shake their head at you, it's best to quickly leave. Few predators bother them, but babies and sick or old elephants can fall prey to lions. Lions have been known to attack healthy elephants, but it is unusual, as their trunks, tusks and enormous weight make them a formidable adversary.
