 Red Cloisonne
Full Size Image A beautiful clasp deserves to be seen so it became the focal point of the necklace. The vermeil of the clasp called for something equally rich. I tried it with amber but that material was eclipsed by the red Cloissonné beads. I have accented them with tiny Carnelians and a single Amber bead. I added 14K gold filled corrigated beads and then saw the box of golden seed beads. The color was perfect, but seed beads are so small. I decided on multiple strands of the golden beads, and then tried braiding them. It was one of those times when you wish you had four arms, and you have to concentrate. The number of beads on each strand must be the same, all six of them.
I may never make it to Heaven. No doubt I offended all deities, but I do love the result. Sometimes matching earrings are too much, but in this case, I thought they would add to the dazzling effect of the necklace. It was a while before I tackled braiding strings again.
