Freshwater pearls and delicas with a carved Mother Of Pearl pendant

A blue shell flower from the world renowned Tucson Gem Show inspired this necklace.

Shell products are fascinating, and I was attracted immediately to this blue flower carving.  It had no bail so I just wrapped the double wires through the hole and used tiny sterling beads to cover them.  The tiny iridescent blue delicas complimented the blue of the flower and blended with the blues of the freshwater pearls.  I wanted all four strands of the necklace to show off their pretty patterns so I used one of the new sterling slide clasps.  This necklace has a rich natural look.
