The partially frozen Sangamon River, in Central Illinois, rimmed in ice, makes a stark contrast with the bare trees. The form that trees take in the winter, to me, is more interesting without their leaves.  I like the infinite variability of the tracery of the limbs.  

 

The original watercolor is part of the artist's private collection.

Victoria Falls - Part 1
Fresh from our Blue Train adventure from Cape Town to Pretoria, the next day we headed for the airport and our flight to the town of Livingston, Zambia, where we would stay at the Royal Livingston Hotel, adjacent to Victoria Falls. The flight was perfect in every way except for the spoiled, screaming child who tortured forty adults for two hours.
