Two inch Mother Of Pearl Carved flower pendant, Fresh Water Pearls, Delica Beads, Sterling Beads and Fittings, Sterling Slide Clasp

 

 Shells and shell products are fascinating, and I was attracted to this blue flower carving at the Tucson Gem Show.  It had no bail so I just wrapped the double wires through the hole and used tiny sterling beads to cover them.  The tiny iridescent blue delicas complimented the blue of the flower and blended with the blues of the freshwater pearls.  I wanted all four strands of the necklace to show off their pretty patterns so I used one of the new sterling slide clasps.  This necklace has a rich natural look.

Victoria Falls - Part 1
Fresh from our Blue Train adventure from Cape Town to Pretoria, the next day we headed for the airport and our flight to the town of Livingston, Zambia, where we would stay at the Royal Livingston Hotel, adjacent to Victoria Falls. The flight was perfect in every way except for the spoiled, screaming child who tortured forty adults for two hours.
