When I saw these Amazonite rectangles, I thought they would make a wonderfully bold fashion statement. I envisioned a necklace that would make the little black dress to stand out as the life of the party. It took me some months to find beads that would work to enhance the strong natural stone and tie it all into a cohesive whole.
Once I tried the cloissoné beads with their distinctive black and aqua touches, I knew I had found something that would turn a nice necklace into a thing of beauty. For interest, I added Bali and other silver beads, but still the necklace called for something else. It needed light so I added the aquamarine crystals and the glowing wonder beads. An ornamental clasp complimented the cloissonné and Bali bead selections.
The necklace also sets off the big sweaters and goes with soft bluish greens, grays and white.
