A dry pan is a water hole that only has water in it during the wet season. Most of the time it is dry with the cracked mud forming patterns in the mud bottom. The red dunes are part of the Great Namib Desert of Namibia. The dead looking camelthorn tree may come to life when the rains come...or it may not.
