Kokerboom trees, as the South Africans call them, are members of the Aloe family. Their leaves are more like the bracts of the aloe plants of the Southwestern United States. Their limbs are hollow and are used by natives to carry arrows, hence their name for the tree, Quiver Tree. They grow in arid regions of Southern Africa.
